These lightweight earrings look and sound great! Each one-of-a-kind pair is upcycled from recycle-bin-foraged, aluminum can tabs and makes a mesmerizing clinking sound that is a delight to the ears.
I began making these earrings after making a human-scaled, outdoor hanging sculpture out of this material while on residency at Zócalo Apartments in Houston (2021). I loved the sound and feel of a large accumulation of aluminum can tabs even more than the look.
